On January 21, the 5th Session of the 15th Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, was grandly opened.
The conference was guided by Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and its subsequent plenary sessions, deeply studied and implemented the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 75th anniversary celebration of the founding of the CPPCC, and his important instructions for the work in Jiangsu and Suzhou. The conference focused on the overall economic and social development plans of Suzhou during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, actively promoted democracy, provided constructive suggestions, and gathered broad consensus to contribute wisdom and strength to advancing the new practice of Chinese-style modernization in Suzhou. Fan Bo, Secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a congratulatory speech. Zhu Min, Chairman of the Suzhou CPPCC, presented the work report of the 15th CPPCC Standing Committee. Xu Wen Qian, Chairman of Aosheng, was invited to attend the conference.
Fan Bo, Secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, extended warm congratulations on behalf of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee. He stated that the past year had been extraordinary. The successful convening of the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC outlined a grand blueprint for development over the next five years. General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the Jiangsu delegation to participate in deliberations and delivered an important speech, greatly inspiring the ambitions of the entire province and city. Suzhou fully implemented the decisions and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the work requirements of the provincial party committee, successfully completing all annual and “14th Five-Year Plan” development goals and tasks, and making significant progress in the construction of a “strong, prosperous, beautiful, and high” new Suzhou.
The “15th Five-Year” period is a key time for consolidating the foundation of socialist modernization and making comprehensive efforts, and also an important stage for Suzhou’s high-level progress and transformation. The city must take the lead in undertaking major responsibilities and serving as a model, using innovation as the focus and culture as the thread to weave a “double-sided embroidery” of humanistic and economic integration, blending tradition and modernity in the new era. The goal is to create an international and modern people’s city, set a strong pace for the “15th Five-Year” period, and hand in an outstanding answer that will live up to the great expectations of the General Secretary, history, and the people.
Zhu Min, Chairman of the Suzhou CPPCC, emphasized that all levels of CPPCC organizations and members must adhere to the Party's comprehensive leadership over the work of the CPPCC, ensuring that the CPPCC’s career progresses in the right direction. They should focus on the goals and tasks for the “15th Five-Year” period, pushing forward in-depth consultation and supervision with practical results. The CPPCC should fully utilize the role of the United Front, uniting people from all walks of life to form the largest possible common ground. The work of the CPPCC should be advanced in a balanced and innovative manner, deepening the new practice of whole-process people's democracy. Furthermore, the CPPCC’s self-construction should be strengthened to enhance its capacity to fulfill its duties.
After attending this meeting, Xu Wen Qian, Chairman of Aosheng, was deeply inspired and reflected on many aspects.
